Specimen Requirements

1 mL of synovial fluid in a plain, red-top tube(s). If there is a delay in transport of >1 hour, send specimen refrigerated.
 

Note:  No anticoagulant is necessary, however, tubes containing liquid EDTA may be used. Specimen will be rejected if powdered EDTA is used.
