Methodology
Red-Cell Agglutination
Used to determine a patient’s ABO group and Rh type and detection of clinically significant RBC antibodies.

Specimen Requirements
Collect blood in a 10-mL, pink-top, Blood Bank (K2 EDTA) tube(s), and send EDTA whole blood.
Note: 1. If specimen collection may result in a possible transfusion, patient must be wearing a hospital identification wristband.
2. All specimens must be completely labeled per AABB requirements. See “Blood Bank” in “Special Instructions” for additional information.
