Specimen Requirements

5 mL from a first-morning urine collection. No preservative. Send specimen refrigerated.

Note:  1. Strenuous exercise should be avoided prior to collection.

2. Urinary tract infection, hematuria, and clinical proteinuria will cause elevation of urinary albumin.
